Kirsty Pearce
Kirsty has owned her ‘horse of a lifetime’, Lizzy, for 13 years, since Lizzy was just a four-year-old. After many years of fun and success competing in unaffiliated showjumping and dressage, Lizzy is now semi-retired and the pair enjoy schooling, groundwork and lots of lovely hacking.
Kirsty’s mum owns Charlie, a five-year-old gelding who the family bought just over a year ago.
“He has totally stolen my heart,” says Kirsty. “We spent last year experiencing firsts of everything together; shows, clinics, travelling, clipping, hacking, and generally gaining miles, fitness, balance and experience.”
Working with the Comfy Horse Company suits Kirsty to a tee because she fully supports the ethos that every horse deserves to be a comfy horse.
“It’s so refreshing, as I get the option to try products and find the ones that suit myself and my horses best.”
A few years back Lizzy unfortunately sustained an injury, which she came right from against all odds and has been living a comfy life for the last seven years since.
“To me, it doesn’t matter if Lizzy is semi-retired and Charlie is in full work furthering his education, they both deserve to be as comfortable as possible at all times. Knowing my horses are comfortable whilst being exercised in-hand and under saddle, keeps me safe in the knowledge that I am doing the best for them at all times.”
So has Kirsty found her favourite Comfy Horse product yet?
“This is a tough question, but I’m going to go with the MDC Sport Classic Stirrups as I use them everyday! They make me feel secure in the saddle because of their wide footbed and safety feature swivel top, which keeps them pointing in the right direction and my ankles, knees and hips comfortable at all times.
Keep an eye out for Kirsty and her much-loved MDC stirrups out and about this season as she continues bringing Charlie on and getting back out competing again. Meanwhile Lizzy will be continuing to enjoy her hacking and improving her in-hand groundwork.
