Leather lunge cavesson  with stainless steel fixings.
 
The noseband is a chain wrapped in soft leather and has three attachment rings, the middle for work with one rein and the outer for long reining and work with two reins. The throat lash is fixed.
 
Ideal for classical dressage schooling, work in hand and lunging as it has a precise feel and is comfortable for the horse.

French Baroque Style Cavesson

French baroque style cavesson is available in sizes: Cob, Full, X-Full Colours: Black or Brown

Leather lunge cavesson with stainless steel fixings.
 
The cavessons we stock have a chain nose band wrapped in leather. This allows precise movements as the noseband wraps around the horse’s nose without the need for shaping. This style of cavesson is centuries old and is lightweight and comfortable. The cavesson’s severity depends on:

  • The handler
  • The width of the noseband
  • The thickness of the padding

The handler should always be mindful of the horses comfort when using any equipment, these cavessons are designed for small light movements to guide the horse to bend, flex and turn and allow pressure and release. The smaller the contact area, the more severe the cavesson. Our cavessons can be padded using our sheepskin noseband covers to make them softer, but generally horses do find them comfortable.

PRODUCT CARE & MAINTENANCE – LEATHERWARE Our leather products are individually made and therefore the leather grain and texture may vary. We recommend cleaning with saddle soap and applying oil or leather balsam prior to first use, reapplying whenever necessary. If the products get wet, allow to dry naturally in a warm environment but away from direct heat.

    Thank you! Brigadier and I use Spanish/French Classical training and I had been completely unable to find an appropriate caveson for lunging. It is light and fits him well (with the addition of a few holes — my little baroque mustang never fits anything precisely)
